Milestone 33 - Missing The sketch, shown here, is based on the 1952 photograph taken by L.C. Pierce. It would be in what is now Thorndale. In 2009 Happy Days Family bistro is about 1/5 mile to the west. In place of the permanent stone 15 year old Ellery posses in front of the Bistro with a 33 tacked to his chest. When Thorndale was first organized in 1847 it was named Thorndale in honor or perhaps dishonor of the thorny appearance of the land. The Thorndale Iron works was the first major industry there. *Above banner image was taken at Struble Trail, Downingtown, PA.
